Description
Gloria Ruth (Fox) Wymore (1928–2016)
was a luminous presence whose devotion to art, family, and community left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she moved to Santa Rosa, California, at age 13, discovering a lifelong passion for creativity that flourished during her high school years and beyond. United in marriage to her husband, William “Bill” Wymore, for 69 remarkable years, Gloria cultivated a rich tapestry of relationships that included fellow artists in the Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Senior Art Classes, her beloved “bowling ladies,” and a wide circle of extended family.
Her gentle spirit radiated through each painting she touched and every life she influenced, evoking joy, comfort, and a reverence for simple, heartfelt beauty. Even as she bravely faced illness, Gloria’s dedication to uplifting others never wavered, remaining a source of inspiration until her peaceful passing on August 1, 2016. Although no formal service was held at her request, her impact continues to resonate—an enduring testament to the power of creativity, love, and community.
A delicate bloom realized in luminous watercolor, exuding a gentle softness that seems to glow from within. Painted with airy washes of pastel hues, the composition pairs a gracefully unfolding rose with a crisp, modern vase. The result is a quietly refined still life, celebrating the fleeting beauty of nature with serene elegance.
